Let’s face it—when you’re in a Zoom meeting, a business suit on top and pyjama relaxation on the bottom is the pandemic dress code.
And yet, even the fashion-forward aren’t immune to a wardrobe mishap. Take it from Tan France, the fashion guru from “Queer Eye” who, like the rest of us, found himself caught in a video call fashion faux pas.
“Just being home, I often wear pyjamas or shorts when I’m on a Zoom call,” confessed Tan during a Facebook Watch special, “And as with many people, there was a slight fall of my phone, and suddenly, the world saw boxer shorts and my bare legs.”
Ah, the famous Zoom fashion hazard we all became acquainted with during the lockdown days. In the midst of this fashion failure, the ever-charming Arielle Vandenberg, host of “Love Island,” couldn’t help but find the humour in the situation. “Well, at least you’re wearing boxers,” she quipped, bringing some much-needed laughter to the situation.
But what makes Tan France’s Zoom blunder even more charming is his unabashed authenticity in the fashion world. While some may expect him to be draped in designer labels, he proudly declared in a separate interview, “I don’t care that much about the hottest new trend. If a trend works for me, I will embrace it. But do I live by trends? Do I change my clothes every three months and not wear things anymore because they were ‘last season’? Absolutely not.”
Tan’s outlook on fashion, driven by personal style rather than fleeting trends, is a refreshing reminder that fashion is about self-expression and feeling good in your skin. He’s proof that you don’t need to be on the best-dressed celebrities’ list to turn heads and make a statement.
