Prince William and Princess Kate’s Matching Outfits

When it comes to royal fashion, nobody does it better than Prince William and Princess Kate. The couple has been seen stepping out in coordinated outfits on several occasions, giving us major royal fashion envy in their matching outfits.

Whether they’re headed to royal engagements, royal tours, or family outings, the royal couple is certainly setting royal fashion trends with their coordinated looks. From head-to-toe ensembles in monochromatic hues to complementary styles that feature pops of colour and prints, Prince William and Princess Kate never fail to impress us with their impeccable royal style.

2013, Prince George’s Birth

Starting off with one of the most memorable occasions in the royal couple’s life, the birth of their first son, Prince George. Prince William and Princess Kate stepped out of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital wearing matching light blue outfits.

2016, Taj Mahal

In 2016, Prince William and Princess Kate visited the Taj Mahal in India. The couple sat together on a bench, recreating an iconic picture of Diana, Princess of Wales, in the same location. While Princess Diana was pictured wearing a red blazer jacket and a purple, Prince William and Princess Kate looked impeccable in their navy blue and white ensemble.

2017, Germany

Here’s a photo that showcased not only Prince William and Princess Kate’s colour-coordinated outfits, but Prince George’s and Princess Charlotte’s as well! During the 2017 Poland/Germany Tour of the then-family-of-four, Princess Kate wore a simple yet chic lavender dress, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s outfits matching her look. Prince William’s purple tie completed the whole look.

2019, Newborough Beach

When it comes to wearing cosy outfits for chilly days, Prince William and Princess Kate also have matching pieces. The royal couple wore almost identical coats on a visit to Newborough Beach in Anglesey, United Kingdom in 2019.

The pair joined pupils from a local primary school to help with the beach clean-up organised by the Isle of Anglesey County Council.

2021, United Nations Climate Change Conference in Scotland

There’s a reason why royal blue is called royal blue as it is a colour that certainly gives the royals an additional air of elegance. For a royal engagement during the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Scotland, Prince William and Princess Kate matched each other in royal blue.

Princess Kate wore a bold coat dress, while Prince William’s patterned blue tie polished off his dark blue suit. Both also wore a red poppy brooch.

2022, Caracol, Belize

The Prince and Princess of Wales also match even when they’re dressed down. On a visit to the Maya ruins of Caracol in Belize, the royal pair’s colour of choice was “jungle green.” Princess Kate wore a simple, classic white tee with her jungle green trousers, while Prince William had a muted green button-down and trousers in the same shade as Princess Kate’s.

2022, Massachusetts, United States

Princess Kate wore burgundy from head to toe on a trip to Boston, Massachusetts in 2022. Of course, Prince William matched Princess Kate’s ensemble with his own burgundy sweater underneath his dark grey blazer.

The royal couple wore their coordinated outfits on a visit to Greentown Labs, a tech start-up that supports entrepreneurs who want to provide sustainable solutions to climate change.

2023, Royal Liverpool University Hospital

Navy blue and dark green were the royal couple’s colours in one of their most recent outings. Prince William and Princess Kate attended the opening of the Royal Liverpool University Hospital in simple yet dashing winter outfit formulas.

Princess Kate wore a navy blue midi dress with a tartan coat, while Prince William looked warm in his navy blue blazer and dark green sweater.

Final Note

It’s safe to say that Prince William and Princess Kate have mastered the art of matching outfits. Their coordinated looks always prove that they are one of the most stylish royal couples in history. It will be exciting to see what other fashion trends the couple set in the future!
