Celebrity style is incredibly influential and is indicative of the trends and styles that everyone loves. Red carpet looks are elegant, daring, and can become incredibly iconic, holding people’s attention and inspiring for years to come.
We love seeing our favourite celebrities on the red carpet wearing their best looks and making jaws drop. Here are just a few of our favourite fashion moments from the past year.
At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Bella Hadid rocked up in an unforgettable Schiaparelli Haute Couture look. The dress featured a daringly low neckline which brought attention to the stunning statement necklace covered in rhinestones in the shape of lungs.
Zendaya has not been holding out this year, attending every red carpet event in individual looks that are each unique from one another and just as unforgettable as the last. For several Dune screenings, she dressed up in stunning outfits that had the internet buzzing. We especially fell in love with the nude latex dress she wore to the Venice Film Festival by Balmain.
Olivia Rodrigo made a smashing debut earlier this year with her first-ever album, SOUR. Since then, she’s become a Gen Z style icon, embodying the trends of the year. We really adored her custom-made pastel dress from Marc Jacob’s Heaven line that she wore at this year’s VMAs.
Billie Eilish is another Gen Z trendsetter, but one of her best looks of last year evoked some old Hollywood elegance. The singer wore a dramatic Oscar de la Renta gown complemented by some fresh platinum locks reminiscent of Marilyn.
Zoë Kravitz is undoubtedly one of this year’s It girls when it comes to style both on and off the red carpet, and we think her Met Gala look is completely indicative of that. The sheer mesh gown by Yves Saint Laurent was definitely one of the highlights of the evening.
Billie Porter isn’t one to shy away from bold looks that push the boundaries, and his dramatic entrance at the Royal Albert Hall for the 2021 Fashion Awards was his boldest yet. He wore a glittering patterned black and silver gown with sculpted shoulders by Richard Quinn and was accompanied by dancers in floral print and black PVC outfits.
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky are individual style icons in their own right, and we loved seeing the power couple sport complementing looks at this year’s Met Gala. She wore a stunning Balenciaga overcoat and matching hat while he sported a specially made, quilt-inspired look by ERL.
Megan Fox has been owning 2021, including the fashion department. We absolutely adored this nearly-naked dress that she wore to the 2021 VMAs by Mugler.
Timothée Chalamet is proof that male fashion doesn’t always have to be a black tux. He’s always wearing interesting silhouettes, colours, and patterns, like this head-to-toe black sequined look from Haider Ackerman at the Venice Film Festival Dune premiere.
Anya Taylor-Joy has been a showstopper on the red carpet, wearing stunningly elegant gowns and shimmering jewels. Her green Dior Haute Couture dress partnered with Tiffany & Co. diamonds at the Golden Globes stirred a lot of buzz.
2021 was full of stunning and innovative looks that we just adored, and we can’t wait to see what the next year brings with it. From bold to classic and artful to refined, there are so many styles and personalities to fall in love with every year when it comes to celebrity fashion inspiration.
